We have many things to be thankful for this year… our family and friends have filled our lives with joy, love, and laughter! It’s only been a year since we sent out our last Christmas letter, but felt that we had such a busy year it would be fun to share with everyone. Even though it won’t make it before Christmas – ‘tis the season! Lynn and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary this year, and our 16th year together! Being able to have our families close, great friends, time and money to travel, and wonderful homes to live in and enjoy is wonderful. We hope and pray that He gives you the strength and desire to fulfill your dreams as he has allowed us to live our dreams.

One of the biggest news events this year, we have a new niece! My sister Karen and her husband Mike had a darling baby girl, Hannah Marie Gervais on January 6th. For those of you who don't know - that is Karen's birthday too! It's been fun seeing her grow up and watch her taking her first steps. I know her Mom will want to know why I used this picture, but it shows true family tradition; sitting in an easy chair (by the way, that was my Dad Seth's, red rocker when he was a child), eating graham crackers, her favorite, and watching TV! Hannah is a real cutie and we just love spending time with her, and Mom & Dad. We had about 60 people here at the house for Karen's baby shower, the chairs were lined up like a church service. We've been enjoying our new home, and have had many, many get-togethers; baby shower, Lynn's birthday and Super Bowl party, David's birthday, Mike's birthday, and Thanksgiving to name a few. We really enjoy entertaining, and that was one of the reasons we loved the layout of our new home so much.

Speaking of homes, we have purchased 2 more houses in addition to our original house, and our current home. It's been a great experience and we're looking forward to many more in our future. We have some great tenants and had one, not so great tenant, which has taught us some valuable lessons. If you would like to know more about how we're investing in real estate, give me a call or shoot me an email. It's a real passion of ours and we love to talk to friends a family about how we're doing. Oh, and the tax-free cash we're able to take out is a nice benefit too... I learned on my last trip to Wisconsin that my Dad, Seth was somewhat of a real estate investor too. I never realized that he also owned rental properties, or at least I never put it all together that that was the case. It was an enlightening moment for me, knowing I was subconsciously following in his footsteps more than 25 years later.

Yes, yes, we made another trip to Wisconsin this year - it's been a lot of fun for me to visit my 'old stomping grounds' the last couple of years. This year my cousin graduated from St. Olaf in Minnes-oh-ta so we decided to go back for that since my family from Colorado and Wisconsin would be together again, and who knows how long it might be before it would be possible to get everyone's schedules aligned. It was great to see everyone again, and to spend a little more time with my Colorado family in celebrating a joyous occasion. No time ever seems to be enough, and the hours and days flew by, and it was soon time to say our good-byes.

We decided that this year, since we had never really taken a 'vacation' while we were in Wisconsin, it always seemed like we were busy doing something all the time. So, I decided that we should relive another of my child-hood memories and go south to Baraboo, WI for the Ringling Bros, & Barnum and Bailey Circus. The site in the picture here is the 'Big Top' although it's not very big anymore. It was fun to see all the changes, a little disappointing at times though as the Circus grounds have gotten much smaller. Yes, yes, I realize they looked huge as a kid, but this location is no longer their season headquarters, they have all moved away and it is now just a regular 'Circus/Fair' with some rides and small attractions. The museum is wonderful though, with lots of artifacts and history about the Circus.

As I mentioned, we have some wonderful friends and are fortunate to spend time with many of them including a few 'get-a-ways' with some of them. In April, we went to Disneyland with our long time friends, Rod and Wynnelle Woods. None of us had been there since Disney added the new California Adventure park and Downtown Disney, so it was fun to see all the new attractions. We had a great time.

Another 'get-a-way' was to Las Vegas this year with our friends, Chuck and Lynette Blankenship. We had a great time, going to shows, playing some games, touring the different casinos and hotels, and of course eating the buffets! Las Vegas is an amazing place and you never seem to be able to see it all in one visit. This time we were able to get out of the city and go to the Red Rock Canyon, and Hoover Dam. They were doing maintenance on the lower dam so we didn't get the full tour - maybe next time. Red Rock Canyon was amazing - all the colors and landscape. It would be fun to do a couple short hikes (emphasis on short!) back into the Park wilderness. They say there are streams and small ponds off the beaten paths.

One of our favorite shows in Vegas is the American Superstars with impersonators of many different acts including; Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Lynn's favorite - Elvis! I think it is one of the best shows for the money - and we've gone twice now for 'free' - just by attending a short timeshare presentation - what a deal!

As always, there is much we’ve experienced and we’d need a book to put it all in words, so give us a call, stop by, or just email us and we can keep each other posted on where life is taking our families. We’ve had a wonderful year, and hope this letter finds you and your family in good health and great wealth!! -David and Lynn Colbeth, & Ruby too!  21816 – 113th Street East, Bonney Lake, WA 98390 ph: 206-264-5217 This letter is also posted to our website at www.colbeth.com , please stop by and check it out!
